The strict standards, the very high quality level have the International Contests have and the contact with the work of artists from almost the whole World are urging him to improve his aesthetic and technical skills in photography. The effects are soon visible with his increasing sum of acceptances to the Photographic Salons and the Prizes and Honorary Mentions he is being awarded at many countries. Until today more than 260 of his photographs have been exhibited worldwide gaining 56 Medals and Honorary Mentions. At 1993 the Photographic Society of America (PSA.) is honoring him with one Star for his so far international presence and at 1994 the International Federation of Art Photography (FIAP) grants him with the A.FIAP distinction. By 1997 he gains his second PSA star while later he meets the typical qualification for the important E.FIAP title. Today he is a professional photographer following closely the new computer technologies while working the traditional black and white photography at his darkroom. Being well aware of the special advantages each method has and a man that possesses his subject deeply he is using the proper combination of old and contemporary to achieve the best result at his artistic job. Behind the lens he knows how to give all the sensitiveness he has met, learned and applied to his international career and when in the lab he prints the blank photographic paper with art and precision. He remains an active member of the E.F.E. Iraklio, tactically giving seminars of general and special photographic interest at beginner and advanced classes. He frequently invites foreign photographers to send their portfolios for a series of exhibitions at many Hellenic cities. He cooperated with the "OPTICON" photo - magazine writing articles about technical and conjectural themes. He has done personal exhibitions with part of his works at Florina, Ptolemais, Kastoria, Kalamata and Mytilene in Greece. He wrote the dissertation "Color and Light" concerning chromometry, light temperature and the methods of fixing the chromatic inclinations, including a complete and detailed guide of the color correction filters. Finally he has written the study "Seeing Red", a complete guide about shooting, developing and printing the black and white Infrared film. |
